Activate learning so it sticks
We do the science so you can run your business better.
What is active learning and why does it matter?
Lectures or videos do not equal learning. Learners pay focused attention to less than 10 out of every 60 minutes of every lecture or video. Learner attention matters because it focuses learning.
You learn much better when you actively work to get knowledge out of your brain than when you try to put it in through lecture, video or reading. When learners actively retrieve information through quizzing they more quickly embed learning in their minds.
No matter what you are learning, you need deliberate practice and cues to strengthen your memory. The right spacing of practice helps your recall since every time you retrieve a memory, you strengthen that knowledge.
